Composite Fillings

Probably the most common type of restoration is the removal of decay and placing a filling in the affected area of the tooth. Also known as “tooth-colored” fillings, Dr. Davis uses composite resin material when repairing cavities. Composite material bonds to the tooth and supports the remaining tooth structure, which in turn helps prevent tooth breakage. This material is preferred not only because it looks more natural than the old “silver” or amalgam fillings but also because it requires removing less tooth structure than the traditional amalgam material necessitates.
