Invisalign

What is Invisalign?

Advancement in technology has created an alternative to traditional braces. Invisalign are clear plastic, custom-made aligner trays that are virtually invisible when worn. Malaligned teeth present more than just a visual issue, they can also create potential health issues, such as cavities when overcrowded teeth prevent proper cleaning, painful jaw issues, and bite problems. If you are experiencing any of these issues, or just want to improve your smile, give us a call to set up an appointment.

What is the process?

At your appointment with Dr. Davis, she will review the results of her exam and the two of you will discuss how Invisalign can help improve your smile.

If you decide to move forward with seeing what Invisalign can do for your smile, we take impressions of your teeth in order to create a virtual model. There is a fee of $350 for the creation of this virtual model; this fee is later applied to your Invisalign treatment out of pocket cost if/when you move forward. Dr. Davis will then work with Invisalign to create a proposal for your Invisalign treatment. When that proposal is ready a few weeks later, we schedule a treatment presentation appointment at which time Dr. Davis will review the virtual model with you and give you a better idea of how long treatment will take and what the projected results may be.

Once the treatment plan is accepted, the series of custom trays are made and we invite you back for your initial fitting. You wear the trays a minimum of 22 hours a day and change out every two weeks for a determined amount of time. We have you come in every six weeks so that Dr. Davis can monitor your progress and see if any changes are needed. Each set of trays (upper and lower) gradually and gently shift your teeth to attain the desired results. There are no metal brackets and no wires to interfere with your natural smile.

After treatment is completed, you will want to maintain that beautiful smile with retainers to be worn while sleeping. These retainers look just like the Invisalign trays and will help you keep your new, beautiful smile in place.
